Assyrian Soldiers
The Assyrians had three different soldiers in their military and all of them contributed in large ways. Infantry was the most common soldier. An infantry soldier usually had a sword or spear and attacked on foot. The second most common soldier was cavalry. Cavalry was men on horses with bows or spears. Cavalry allowed soldiers to get behind and army and attack from all sides. The last and least common soldier was the chariot. In a chariot they had an archer and a spearman. The chariot was pulled by horses. Having more than one type of soldier is important because it could have given them and edge on their opponents.
